In this period marked by Covid-19 and the adaptation of employees’ work arrangements, videoconferencing is an attractive alternative to face-to-face meetings. However, according to the Berlin representative for the protection of personal data (Datenschutz Berlin), the videoconferencing services offered by the major brands (Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, Skype or Zoom) would not process their users’ data in accordance with the GDPR. Indeed, after a brief study of their terms of use, only 5 services would comply with the GDPR. These are Wire, Tixeo, sichere-videokonferenz.de, Jitsi-Netways and Werk21.
